St John's Anglican Church

About
St John's is the limestone Gothic church anchoring Walyalup Koort, the square at the eastern end of High Street. The current building was consecrated in 1882, replacing Fremantle's first Anglican church, which stood in the middle of the square. Demolishing the earlier church allowed High Street to continue through to the Town Hall. Its footprint is still marked in the paving. The church is an active parish, so interior access follows services and events rather than museum hours.
