Mike's review

Visited 2026

The biggest of the three and the easiest place to settle in for a long afternoon. I sat outside on the second visit, on a large umbrella-covered courtyard with a bar at the back and a full menu. The first visit was inside, in the mess hall itself: the Spanish Colonial Revival bones are intact, the volume is open, and the truss ceiling is what the architecture stops you for. The food might edge the beer here, which is saying something. The beer is excellent. The kitchen is doing more than it has to.

From the source

In a 1923 Spanish Colonial Revival mess hall from the former Naval Training Center, now Liberty Station. Stone Brewing opened here in 2013. Thick masonry walls, vaulted clay-tile ceilings, and tall volume let the building handle brewing heat without retrofit. Big interior plus a courtyard with bocce.
