Roca Line Roca: Cañuelas–Monte

The Roca Cañuelas to Monte branch connects Cañuelas with La Noria, Abbott, and San Miguel del Monte. It is a limited rural train beyond the Buenos Aires commuter network, not a frequent continuation of every service from Constitución.

These tracks opened during the nineteenth-century expansion of the Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway toward the provincial interior. The route became part of the Roca system after nationalization in 1948. Today's stopping train preserves local passenger service on a corridor also used by longer-distance rail traffic.

Use SUBE for the fare where validators are provided and check the current timetable before leaving Buenos Aires. Reaching Cañuelas usually involves an electric train to Ezeiza followed by a diesel connection, then another carefully timed departure toward Monte.

Diesel rolling stock handles the rural branch and seating is limited compared with the main suburban fleet. Small stations have basic facilities, low or uneven platforms, and inconsistent wheelchair access. Ask Trenes Argentinos about boarding assistance before travel if mobility is a concern.
