Chaco Regional Rail Puerto Tirol–Resistencia Metropolitan Train

The Puerto Tirol–Resistencia Metropolitan Train runs through Los Aromos, Cacuí, Fontana, and a series of closely spaced stops in Resistencia. It is the most frequent of Chaco's three regional rail routes and takes about 70 minutes end to end.

The line uses the meter-gauge General Belgrano corridor west of Resistencia. Passenger trains between Cacuí and the provincial capital reopened on August 3, 2020 after a three-year suspension. Service was later extended west of Cacuí to Puerto Tirol, giving the corridor the shape of a metropolitan route rather than a rural branch.

Current trains run Monday through Friday. SUBE works aboard the train, and paper tickets are sold at Resistencia and Cacuí or by the onboard staff. A contactless bank card is not listed as a substitute. Some early and late trips cover only Puerto Tirol to Cacuí.

Current rolling stock consists of diesel railcars with basic seating. Central stations have the most activity, while smaller platforms can be little more than a marked stop beside the track.

The operator does not publish a station-by-station wheelchair boarding guide. Platform conditions and shelter vary considerably, so assistance needs should be confirmed with Trenes Argentinos before travel.
