This Intercity runs from Schiphol Airport to Den Haag Centraal, with Leiden Centraal as the principal intermediate stop. It is the cleanest airport train when the destination is the north side of central The Hague.
Dutch Intercity service grew from the coordinated national timetable introduced after the Second World War. The current corridor is electrified main-line railway, and Schiphol's underground station opened in 1978 before being expanded into the through station used today.
