Mike’s notes
Osijek has two tram lines. T1 crosses the city from Zeleno polje through Tvrđa and the central square to Višnjevac. T2 links the central square with Bikara on a southern loop through Đakovština and Gradski vrt.
Tickets and payment
The current first-zone fare is €1.46 for a single paper ticket, €1.06 from a stored-value Butra card, and €4.65 for a daily ticket. Smartica sells mobile tickets and accepts card payment inside the app. That is different from tapping a bank card directly at the tram validator, which GPP does not advertise as a fare method.
Validate any paper ticket or mobile product according to its instructions and keep it available for inspection. The tram parts of Višnjevac are included in the first zone under GPP’s current fare table.
Fleet and accessibility
Ten climate-controlled Končar TMK 2500 low-floor trams are in service. Older high-floor cars remain part of the transition until the next ten new trams arrive, so a low-floor vehicle is not guaranteed on every departure.
Osijek completed major track work and 23 new or rebuilt stops in 2026. The new trams are wheelchair accessible, but boarding conditions still vary by stop and vehicle. Much of the network runs in city streets, so watch traffic when crossing to a platform or stop island.
Check GPP’s current departures near travel. Construction-related substitutions have been common during the modernization program.
