Line 48 runs from Gnesta to Södertälje centrum, connecting the outer main-line stations with Södertälje syd and the local branch through Södertälje hamn.
The railway through Gnesta and Järna dates to the nineteenth-century Western Main Line. It later became part of Stockholm's regional commuter network, while Södertälje syd opened with the newer main-line alignment in 1995.
Touch in with a contactless bank card, SL card, or activated app ticket. Normal SL fare rules apply, but the line runs less frequently than the central trunk routes, so check the return departure before leaving the station.
