La Choripanería is expensive and it is a tourist trap, but it is probably the best gourmet chori in the city. If you have already spent the money to fly to Buenos Aires, paying a little extra here is not a serious problem. The counter gets crowded along with the rest of the market.
From the source
La Choripanería is a counter-service restaurant inside Mercado de San Telmo. It specializes in choripán rather than a broad parrilla menu. The versions range from a traditional sausage sandwich to combinations with lamb sausage, blue cheese, mushrooms and other toppings. The grill is open to the counter, with seating along the bar and market aisle.
This was the business's first location. Its menu updates Argentina's basic chorizo sandwich without turning it into a formal meal, which fits the market's mix of old food stalls and newer restaurant counters. The entrance is on the Bolívar side of the market block.

- Keep phones and bags secure in the market crowd. The surrounding San Telmo blocks are busy, but use a planned route for the walk south toward La Boca and avoid walking La Boca's streets at night.
