Visited 2021The Pantheon was much bigger than I expected. It is hard to understand the scale until you are standing under the dome. Very cool.

The Pantheon's portico opens into a rotunda just over 43 meters wide and high. The dimensions make the interior feel far larger than the entrance suggests. A coffered concrete dome spans the room, with an oculus almost nine meters across as its only source of natural light.
The building has served as the church of Santa Maria ad Martyres since 609. It remains both a monument and an active church.
