Estación Retiro San Martín

Retiro San Martín opened in 1912 as a temporary terminal, which explains why it looks so different from the monumental Mitre building next door. Its iron arches, timber, and corrugated metal were practical choices for a structure that was not expected to last. More than a century later, it is still in service.

The terminal has been rebuilt and restored while keeping that lighter industrial character. Use this hall for San Martín Line trains rather than treating Retiro as a single interchangeable station. The Mitre and Belgrano Norte platforms are close, but each railway has its own entrance and concourse.
