Tram 2 is the Budapest tram you ride for the view. It runs along the Pest bank of the Danube, so the city opens sideways: Parliament on your side, Buda Castle and Gellért Hill across the river, bridges cutting through the frame.
This is not complicated transit advice. If you have a travelcard or a valid ticket, use Tram 2 as a moving river walk. It pairs well with Parliament, the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial, Vigadó tér, the Chain Bridge area, and the Central Market Hall end of town.
It is also useful because Budapest's riverfront geography is long and linear. The tram lets you make that stretch without turning the whole day into a pavement march.
