Budapest Tram 4

Tram 4 is one of the Grand Boulevard workhorses. This is not the romantic Danube ride but the line that makes Pest's inner ring feel stitched together.

The practical mental model is the same as Tram 6 for much of the route: Margit híd, Nyugati, Oktogon, Blaha Lujza tér, then down toward south Buda. If your hotel or dinner plans sit near the boulevard, this line is often easier than dropping into the metro and changing.

Use it for neighborhood movement. Budapest rewards walking, but the boulevard is long, and the tram saves the day when your next stop is just far enough to become annoying.
