The Tren Nos-Estación Central is Santiago's frequent southern suburban railway. It makes all ten stops from the Alameda terminal through Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Lo Espejo, and San Bernardo to Nos.

The service opened in its present form in 2017. It separated the urban stopping pattern from the faster regional trains to Rancagua and San Fernando.

San Bernardo is the main transfer for regional trains. Estación Central connects with Metro Line 1. The Metro and EFE platforms are adjacent but use separate fare gates.

Weekday peak intervals are shortest. Late evening, weekend, and holiday service has wider gaps. Check the last train rather than relying on Metro's operating hours.

The X'Trapolis electric fleet has air conditioning, wide doors, open standing areas, and passenger information screens. It is designed for short commuter trips and gets crowded toward Estación Central in the morning peak.

Pay with a currently accepted EFE local method. This is not a reserved train, and a Santiago-Chillán ticket is not valid as a general suburban pass.

Platforms were rebuilt for accessible suburban operation. At the historic Alameda and San Bernardo stations, the protected building is not always the step-free entrance.
