The Temuco-Pitrufquén line runs 29.3 km south through Padre Las Casas, Quepe, and Freire. The complete trip takes about 41 minutes.

The current passenger extension opened in 2023 using trains already assigned to the Victoria-Temuco corridor. Padre Las Casas and Quepe were added as local stops, while Freire's historic station was repaired.

The line operates Monday through Saturday. It does not normally run on Sundays or holidays, even though the Victoria side of Tren Araucanía continues operating.

Temuco is the only rail transfer. The schedule is built around a small number of peak-direction trips, so missing one can remove the practical connection.

The regional fleet has climate control, Wi-Fi, passenger information screens, cameras, an accessible toilet, and spaces for passengers with reduced mobility. The short schedule can still produce crowding around school and commuter departures.

Electronic payment includes the current Temuco-area card and supported QR or bank-card options. Confirm the active method on EFE's service page.

The extension was designed with raised accessible platforms. Freire has the restored station building, while Pitrufquén uses a compact modern shelter and platform.
