Tram D is one of Vienna's better visitor tram lines because it gives you a long surface read of the city. It touches the Ringstrasse side, the Belvedere direction, and continues toward Nussdorf.

Use it when you want movement and orientation rather than a sealed underground jump. It is especially good if your day is drifting between the old center edge, the Ring, and a coffee/food stop without needing to optimize every minute.

This is the tram-line version of Vienna's appeal: polished, civic, and useful without needing to become a sightseeing bus.
