Sarmiento Line Sarmiento: Once–Moreno

The Sarmiento Once to Moreno branch connects central Buenos Aires with Caballito, Flores, Liniers, Ramos Mejía, Morón, Castelar, Merlo, and Moreno. It is the main commuter railway across the western suburbs.

Argentina's first passenger railway opened from the old Parque station to Floresta in 1857. The Western Railway reached Moreno in 1860, and the route took the Sarmiento name after nationalization in 1948. Once replaced Parque as the city terminal as the line expanded.

Use SUBE for the fare and tap at both ends where validators are provided. Once connects with Subte Line H at Plaza Miserere, while the Line A station is a short walk away at Plaza de Miserere. Trains can be extremely crowded during the workday commute.

Modern electric trains have air-conditioned interiors and open circulation between cars. Raised platforms provide level or near-level boarding at much of the core route, though wheelchair access, elevators, and platform gaps still vary. Change at Moreno for diesel trains toward Mercedes or at Merlo for Lobos.
