This suburban line connects Athens International Airport with Koropi, Doukissis Plakentias, Neratziotissa, Metamorfosi, Acharnai Railway Center, and Ano Liosia. It provides the frequent northern section of the airport railway without continuing through central Athens.

The airport railway opened in 2004. The revised timetable introduced in 2025 extended local Ano Liosia services to the airport every day and increased weekday frequency on the airport to Metamorfosi section.

Use an OASA or Hellenic Train fare appropriate to the journey. A supported Visa or Mastercard bank card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay can be tapped at the gates, with the airport trip charged at €9. Use the same physical card or device to enter and exit.

Modern electric suburban rolling stock has air-conditioning, broad doors, luggage space, and visual and audio stop information. Commuter periods can be crowded between the airport junction and Neratziotissa, where passengers change for M1.

Portable ramps are available for wheelchair boarding, and the newer stations usually have elevators. Hellenic Train still recommends 24-hour notice when assistance is required. Ano Liosia is a transfer point for Kiato trains, so confirm the platform rather than expecting the same train to continue west.
