Hellenic Train Passenger Rail Athens–Lianokladi Regional

The regional line connects Athens with Oinoi, Thiva, Livadia, Tithorea, and Lianokladi, calling at smaller Boeotia and Phthiotis stations skipped by Intercity trains. The current timetable has one evening train north and one early train back to Athens.

This route follows the historic Athens to Larissa railway opened through central Greece in the early 20th century. A newer Tithorea to Lianokladi alignment opened in 2018, but the stopping regional service retains links to communities along the corridor.

Buy a Hellenic Train ticket online, in the app, or at an operating station office. There is no contactless bank-card tap-in for the full line. OASA urban fares apply only to the Athens end of the network and do not replace the regional ticket.

Regional rolling stock can change, and seating, air-conditioning, and onboard facilities are less predictable than on reserved Intercity services. The single daily pattern also makes a cancellation or missed train much harder to recover from.

Wheelchair lift equipment is listed at Athens, Oinoi, Thiva, Livadia, Tithorea, and Lianokladi, but smaller platforms are not consistently step-free. Hellenic Train asks passengers who need mobility assistance to arrange the trip at least 24 hours ahead.
