About
Piazza Venezia is the traffic-heavy square where Via del Corso meets the route toward the Imperial Fora and Colosseum. Its present scale was created largely by demolitions for the Vittoriano in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Palazzo Venezia and Palazzo Bonaparte preserve older layers around the square, while the Vittoriano dominates the southeast side.
