About
Santa Maria del Popolo packs several major works into a church that is easy to overlook from the square. The Cerasi Chapel holds Caravaggio's Crucifixion of Saint Peter and Conversion of Saint Paul. Raphael designed the Chigi Chapel, which Bernini later completed, and Pinturicchio's frescoes survive elsewhere in the church. Entry is normally free, but worship, restoration work and church events can change access.
