Santiago Metro Santiago Metro Line 2

Line 2 crosses Santiago from Vespucio Norte to Hospital El Pino. It reaches the northern bus district, the historic center, Franklin, and the southern interchange at La Cisterna.

The first section opened in 1978. Extensions have pushed both ends outward, most recently serving El Bosque and San Bernardo south of La Cisterna.

Cal y Canto connects with Line 3. Los Héroes connects with Line 1, Santa Ana with Line 5, Franklin with Line 6, and La Cisterna with Line 4A.

For the central market and Mapocho riverfront, Cal y Canto is the practical stop. Estación Mapocho is now a cultural center and no longer handles passenger trains.

Use the same integrated Red fare and bip! card as the rest of the Metro. The long line can have localized closures, so check that the destination display names the required southern or northern terminal.

Rubber-tired trains serve high platforms along the whole line. The central section gets crowded at commuter hours, especially around Los Héroes, Cal y Canto, and Franklin, while the newer southern extension is calmer outside the peaks.

New southern stations were built with step-free circulation. Accessibility at older stations depends on the entrance and lift status shown by Metro.
